Yes, I realize my intentions for keeping up with this BLOG are not coinciding with what I'm actually doing. I am not going to make up excuses, but April has been quite the "blur" for me. Which is apparently a good thing considering it's now the 23rd and it's snowing outside. At least I haven't had any illusions of spring yet.
So I have decided to do an installation of "things I've learned" and since I haven't written in a while, and the month of April has been a "blur" I think things I learned this month would be an appropriate post.
So here we go ...
THINGS I HAVE LEARNED IN APRIL 2015
- Most people are truly fucked up. Yes, I understand that we are all fucked up in our own ways, and different people will see something as fucked up that others might find normal, but seriously - people are fucked up. It has got to the point now where I just want to slap them and shake them and scream, 'GET REAL!' I want to, but I don't. It probably wouldn't make a difference anyway.
- Beagles run very fast when they get loose.
- When your body is not used to running, and you go into an immediate and panicked sprint, your body will not like it and take at least a week to recover.
- Spring in Canada is pretty much like winter in Canada. It sucks! Ok - I knew this before but somehow I keep forgetting year to year and it still depresses me.
- Your eyesight can actually improve and when you can't see well out of your glasses any more it might not be your eyes getting worse. Sometimes your prescription can be too strong for you. Who knew?
- Dogs can get car sick too and it's much nastier than when a child does.
- Having a mother who has hearing problems and will not go get tested becomes very annoying in public when you have to yell to have a conversation. I think there are many people now who must think I abuse my mother even though it's just supposed to be a friendly conversation.
- Trying to incorporate a new daily routine in your 40's can be a challenge.
- It's very hard to trust people who aren't honest with themselves.
- It's also very hard to be a friend to someone who isn't honest with themselves. The only thing you can do is be honest with them and hope that one day they'll understand.
- Talking to someone who has actually experienced something themselves can be much more interesting than reading it in an article or book.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, that's about all I can remember for now but there's still another week left of April so I'm sure I have lots more to learn. I just hope I learn it while the sun is out!
